The National Committee of Geologists of Uzbekistan (hereinafter – NCSU) is a non-governmental non-profit organization in the organizational and legal form of a voluntarily organized institution. It has been operating since 1995.

NCSU carries out its activities in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Civil Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On non-governmental non-profit organizations”, “On guarantees of the activities of non-governmental non-profit organizations”, other regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The II International Geology Championship «GeoVizov» has ended in Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan. This year, 29 teams from 11 countries, including Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Georgia and other countries, took part in the competition.
With the support of the National Committee of Geologists of Uzbekistan, the students of the University of Geological Sciences achieved very good results for their first participation in the prestigious competition.
&#8220;Uchkuduk&#8221; showed the best result after the host teams and took 1st place in the international competition, ahead of the teams of Kazakhstan and China.
The Championship included 11 types of competitions: 6 office competitions (Geological Section, Mineralogy and Petrography, Paleontology, Geochemistry, Testing on the Basics of Geological Knowledge, Oil and Gas) and 5 field competitions (Geological Route, Placer Testing, Radiometry, Hydrogeology, Organization of a Field Camp and Safety).

The II International Geology Championship «GeoVizov» has ended in Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan. This year, 29 teams from 11 countries, including Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Georgia and other countries, took part in the competition.

With the support of the National Committee of Geologists of Uzbekistan, the students of the University of Geological Sciences achieved very good results for their first participation in the prestigious competition.

The Championship included 11 types of competitions: 6 office competitions (Geological Section, Mineralogy and Petrography, Paleontology, Geochemistry, Testing on the Basics of Geological Knowledge, Oil and Gas) and 5 field competitions (Geological Route, Placer Testing, Radiometry, Hydrogeology, Organization of a Field Camp and Safety).

On April 5, 2024, an event dedicated to the Geologist&#8217;s Day was held at the University of Geological Sciences. It was attended by veterans, scientists, mentors, heads of enterprises and organizations subordinate to the ministry. The ceremonial meeting was opened by the Minister of Mining and Geology B. Islamov, who made a report on the main achievements, problems and prospects of the field of geology. Leading specialists, geologists and mentors who made a worthy contribution to the development of the industry were awarded “Certificates of Honor” from the Ministry.

The Ministry of Mining and Geology together with the National Committee of Geologists of Uzbekistan organized a seminar on “Application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in mining and geology” at the University of Geological Sciences.
At the seminar, ESRI representative on cooperation with the Commonwealth of Independent States and technical experts from Data+International presented information on solving various tasks in the field of mining and geology with the help of ArcGIS GIS systems.
At the end of the event, discussions were also held on areas of interest to the participants.

The Ministry of Mining and Geology together with the National Committee of Geologists of Uzbekistan organized a seminar on “Application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in mining and geology” at the University of Geological Sciences.

At the seminar, ESRI representative on cooperation with the Commonwealth of Independent States and technical experts from Data+International presented information on solving various tasks in the field of mining and geology with the help of ArcGIS GIS systems.

At the end of the event, discussions were also held on areas of interest to the participants.

On September 30, 2023, the final football match of the “Minister of Geology Cup” took place between employees of enterprises and organizations of the Ministry of Mining and Geology.

The winners and prize-winners of the “Minister of Geology Cup” sports competitions in football, table tennis, chess and badminton were awarded.

At the event, the head of the Main Department of Geology under the Government of Tajikistan, Oymukhammadzoda Ilkhomjon Sultan, as Chairman of the Intergovernmental Council, made a report on the work done over the past period and the results achieved. After this, it was announced that the chairmanship of the Intergovernmental Council was transferred to the Ministry of Mining and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

On September 21–22, 2023, the XXVI session of the Intergovernmental Council on the Exploration, Use and Protection of Subsoil of the CIS Countries was held in the city of Samarkand.

Delegations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia and Belarus took part in the session. At the event, the head of the Main Department of Geology under the Government of Tajikistan, Oymukhammadzoda Ilkhomjon Sultan, as Chairman of the Intergovernmental Council, made a report on the work done over the past period and the results achieved. After this, it was announced that the chairmanship of the Intergovernmental Council was transferred to the Ministry of Mining and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

A training seminar was organized for officials of subordinate organizations of the Ministry of Mining and Geology responsible for performance discipline. At the training, specialists were informed about the content of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 27, 2023 No. UP-116 “On measures for the effective organization of public administration in the field of mining and geology within the framework of administrative reforms”, important tasks and instructions assigned by this document to the industry.
